I started this piece by sealing a laser texture on my canvas with matte medium and having it cure overnight. I pencil sketched my face and followed up with a black Stabilo pencil, then blended white acrylic paint. I found this process from the talented Kate Thompson with her class in LFI2023. This piece is an 8x10 canvas. I decided to go with subtle colors for this piece and a very light antiquing. I then also added some fabric textures sealed with matte medium. Taking an old image and bring a new spin to it brings me so much happiness.
This piece is now being showed at Pairings, Bistro in Bel Air, MD
